Fortune and Phuti Seal Away Win in Palapye
Mochudi Centre Chiefs continued their strong run of form with a 2–0 victory over Santa Green at Palapye Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Magosi took control of the match early and were rewarded in the 25th minute when Ronaldo Fortune broke the deadlock with a well-taken first-half finish, giving Chiefs a deserved lead heading into the interval.
Santa Green attempted to respond after the break, but Chiefs remained organised and patient, managing the game effectively. The introduction of Kgotso Phuti in the 68th minute, replacing Fortune, added fresh energy in midfield and proved decisive late on.
Deep into stoppage time, Phuti capped a strong cameo appearance by finding the back of the net in the 90th minute, sealing the result and putting the contest beyond doubt.
The win takes Mochudi Centre Chiefs to 36 points from 18 matches, keeping them firmly in the title conversation. Chiefs now sit eight points behind log leaders Gaborone United, who were held to a goalless draw by Police XI, and five points behind second-placed Jwaneng Galaxy, who claimed a 2–0 win over Tafic FC over the weekend.
A professional performance on the road and another valuable three points for the Magosi as the season continues to build momentum.
