Aldalur Brace Seals Derby Victory Over Township Rollers

Mochudi Centre Chiefs secured a memorable 2–0 away victory over Township Rollers on Saturday, 14 March, with Spanish centre back Aitor Aldalur scoring twice in the second half to hand Magosi all three points.

The first half was a tightly contested affair with both sides battling for control in midfield. Chiefs managed to carve out a few promising opportunities, with Evans Rusike finding himself in good positions, but his efforts were unable to trouble the goalkeeper as the teams went into the break level.

Magosi eventually found the breakthrough in the 63rd minute. Gilbert Baruti picked out Aitor Aldalur, who took a composed touch before curling a superb effort past the Rollers goalkeeper to give Chiefs the lead.

As the match progressed, Chiefs continued to apply pressure and were rewarded again in the 85th minute. Following a corner that resulted in a loose ball inside the box, Aldalur reacted quickest and volleyed the ball into the net to complete his brace and double Magosi’s advantage.

The final whistle confirmed an impressive victory for Chiefs, ensuring the team completed a home and away league double over Township Rollers this season.

The result moves Mochudi Centre Chiefs to 47 points, level with Jwaneng Galaxy, who did not feature in this round due to their opponents being involved in a cup fixture.

Magosi will now shift their focus to their next assignment against Matebele FC on Tuesday, 17 March at Gaborone United Stadium.
