Rusike Header Secures Big Win Over Jwaneng Galaxy

Mochudi Centre Chiefs recorded an important 1–0 victory over Jwaneng Galaxy on 10 March at Gaborone United Stadium, thanks to a first-half strike from Evans Rusike.

Magosi made their early pressure count in the 19th minute when Malgas delivered a dangerous cross into the box, which Rusike met with a well-timed header to give Chiefs the lead. The goal proved decisive in a tightly contested encounter between two of the league’s strongest sides.

Chiefs remained organised and disciplined throughout the match, with Theo Shadikgong delivering a standout performance in midfield. His composure and control helped dictate the tempo of the game and ensured Magosi maintained structure against a determined Galaxy side.

Jwaneng Galaxy pushed forward in the closing stages, launching a late onslaught in search of an equaliser, but the Chiefs defence held firm to preserve the advantage and secure all three points.

Speaking after the match, Head Coach Miguel Corral Torreira expressed his pride in the team’s performance and praised the players for executing the match plan effectively.

The victory serves as an important boost for Magosi as they prepare for their next challenge against Township Rollers on Saturday, 14 March, once again at Gaborone United Stadium.
