MATCH PREVIEW: MAGOSI TRAVEL TO FACE GALAXY IN MIDWEEK TEST
Wednesday, 19 November 2025 | 17:00 | Galaxy Stadium
Mochudi Centre Chiefs return to FNB Premiership action this Wednesday with a challenging away trip to Galaxy Stadium, where they will face title contenders Jwaneng Galaxy in a highly anticipated midweek fixture.
The Magosi come into the game after a tactical and hard-fought 0–0 draw against Gaborone United, a match where both sides created chances but were ultimately denied by resilient defending and moments of misfortune in front of goal. Chiefs showed discipline and structure, particularly in their second-half push, but just couldn’t find the finishing touch.
Our opponents, Jwaneng Galaxy, arrive in strong form after edging Matebele 3–2 in their last fixture. Galaxy remain firmly in the title race, sitting second on the log with 25 points from 9 matches, and come into this one with confidence and momentum.
Chiefs, meanwhile, sit 5th on the table with 20 points from 11 games, and will be fighting to close the gap on the top four.
Head Coach Piro Moloi has emphasised the need for composure, ball retention, and patience in such high-level fixtures. The team has shown in recent weeks that it can match the league’s best tactically and physically, and Wednesday’s test will require the same level of focus.
However, the Magosi will be without influential Argentine midfielder Nicolás Melgarejo, who suffered a hairline ankle fracture during training and will miss out. In positive news, Ernest makes his return to the squad after recovering from injury, adding depth and stability in midfield.
Galaxy Stadium has never been an easy place to go, but Chiefs travel with belief, unity, and a sense of purpose — ready to rise to the occasion once again.
