Match Report: Magosi Held by Flamingoes in Gaborone
Mochudi Centre Chiefs were forced to settle for a 1–1 draw against Sua Flamingoes FC in an entertaining FNB Premiership clash at Gaborone United Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Magosi started brightly and got their reward in the 15th minute, when Tefo Mofokeng latched onto a clever assist from Ronaldo Fortune to give Chiefs a deserved early lead. The goal lifted the crowd and set the tone for a dominant first-half display.
However, despite controlling much of the play, Chiefs were pegged back shortly before the break. Sua’s Mcebisi Moyo equalised five minutes before half-time, capitalising on a rare defensive lapse to level the score at 1–1.

The second half saw Chiefs create a host of chances, with the attacking trio of Mofokeng, Fortune, and Youssouf troubling the Flamingoes defence, but the finishing touch proved elusive. Despite their pressure, the Magosi could not find the decisive goal.
The afternoon also carried a special moment as former Chiefs captain Thami Zulu featured for Sua Flamingoes. A fan favourite and last season’s Supporters’ Player of the Year, Zulu received warm applause from the Magosi faithful, a testament to the lasting bond he shares with the club and its supporters.
The draw leaves Chiefs still in the chasing pack near the top of the table, with plenty of positives in their attacking play but also lessons to take forward as the season continues.
